“We appreciate very much the input we received from each Sunday School class and especially the spirit of cooperation we felt and desire to work together to meet our goals as a church. After meeting with each adult Sunday School class, the Nurture Commission has decided to make some changes for the new church year. A number of people in the men’s and women’s classes indicated that they would like to be a part of a joint men’s and women’s class, so we are planning a new class that we are calling ‘Intergenerational #2’. It will probably meet in Room 7 & 8 in the basement. We will bring together the young men’s and older men’s class which will meet in room #21. We are also joining the two women’s classes taught by Nancy Nunemaker and Gerri Schwartz. They will likely meet in the foyer by the mailboxes. In addition, members of these four classes might also choose to join the Intergenerational class that is already meeting. We would like your help in several areas as we make this change. First, while the impetus for these changes comes from the classes themselves, we recognize that for some, this will be a difficult and painful change to make. We encourage you to listen well to each other and to check in with the Nurture Commission, Elders, or Ministry Staff if you have any further questions. Secondly, we want to re-emphasize our desire to make our classes open and welcoming to everyone. We especially want to make sure that as we begin a new joint men’s and women’s class, that we make it a place that both single and married people feel at home and welcomed. Thank you for your prayers and support as we continue to move forward.” – The Nurture Commission
