Everyone who has been contacted and who has committed to work with LG Ranch is encouraged to attend a meeting on Wed., Sept. 7 at 7:00 PM here at the church. If you cannot attend, call Eva Beeker.
INCOMING FRESHMEN are invited to join Youth Core! This is a group for high school teenagers which focuses on building relationships together and growing in our faith. If you have questions about the group, please contact one of the sponsors which are Joel & Monica Lederman, Charlie & Stefanie Patrick or Sheila Troyer. See you on Sept. 11 for initiation!
The church office will be closed Friday, Sept. 9.
Don’t forget the Goldenrod Benefit Auction and Haystack Supper on Friday, Sept. 9 3:30-9:00 PM at CR16 & CR 43, 1.5 miles east of the center of Middlebury. Proceeds benefit persons with development disabilities served by MDC Goldenrod.
Verizon (the phone carrier) has given us extra 2005 phone directories. Help yourself to those on the library counter.
Please note the following time changes: Starting Sept. 11, Sunday School will start at 9:15 AM with coffee/donut time in the classes. Class time will start at 9:30 AM. Church will begin at 10:30 AM. This will be on a trial basis.
MDS is accepting monetary donations only at this time for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. You can donate through the offering. Please mark your checks or envelopes “MDS/Hurricane Katrina. A letter from MDS regarding their actions so far is posted on the west bulletin board. It includes information about the Gulf States Mennonite Conference and some of the churches in the affected areas.
Grace Christian Fellowship in Sturgis is offering a Beth Moore simulcast conference on Oct. 7 & 8. Friday’s time is 7-9:30 PM and Saturday’s time is 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The cost is $29 per person for the whole event. If you are interested in going, please let Cathy Fellers know as soon as possible so that she can send in the money. The sign-up sheet will be posted on the library counter.
The September WMSC project is bars of soap.
YOUTH CORE
– Sunday, Sept. 11 – Fun Night at Sheila’s 5-8:00 PM – Initiation for the new school year!
- Tuesday, Sept. 20th – Bull Riding at the Fair - Meet at Village Market at 6:00 PM. Youth Core will pay for the fair admission. You are responsible for money for the bull riding admission and food.
