INCOMING FRESHMEN are invited to join Youth Core! This is a group for high school teenagers which focuses on building relationships together and growing in our faith. If you have questions about the group, please contact one of the sponsors which are Joel & Monica Lederman, Charlie & Stefanie Patrick or Sheila Troyer. See you tonight for initiation!
MDS is accepting monetary donations only at this time for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. You can donate through the offering. Please mark your checks or envelopes “MDS/Hurricane Katrina but make individual checks out to “Locust Grove Mennonite Church”. A letter from MDS regarding their actions so far is posted on the west bulletin board. It includes information about the Gulf States Mennonite Conference and some of the churches in the affected areas.
Attention All Ladies (and men if you like to bake) – The Relief Sale needs baked goods. See Irene Troyer for details. Workers are also needed for the pancake and sausage breakfast. A sign-up sheet is on the library counter.
Cheryl Mast has been appointed as our new adult Sunday school superintendent. Contact her in regards to any questions you have pertaining to adult Sunday school.
Way to go primary Sunday schoolers! You collected $266.01 for the purchase of 2 goats through the Heifer Project. Thanks to everyone who helped with this project.
The September WMSC meeting is this Thursday. Donna Gautsche will be the hostess and Rachel Hochstedler will have devotions. The September project is bars of soap.
Women’s Fellowship – Come join ladies of all ages at a Flower Garden Party, Sept. 14 at 7:00 PM at Khankeo Kerschner’s place. Remember to bring your own lawn chair and a friend. You will have cookies and drink furnished by Gerri Schwartz’s Sunday school class. Directions to Khankeo’s are on the bulletin board.
YOUTH CORE
– Sunday, Sept. 11 – Fun Night at Sheila’s 5-8:00 PM – Initiation for the new school year!
- Tuesday, Sept. 20th – Bull Riding at the Fair - Meet at Village Market at 6:00 PM. Youth Core will pay for the fair admission. You are responsible for money for the bull riding admission and food.
- Sunday, Sept. 25 – Fun Night at Sheila’s 5-8:00 PM
The Michiana Relief Sale without coffee and ice cream? The groups that have been responsible for helping make and distribute coffee and run the dairy bar can no longer serve. The Relief Sale Board is looking for 2 groups to step up and take over these roles Sept. 23-24. Contact Barb Mast at 574-642-4410 if you can help.
