ANNOUNCEMENTS
Explorers – On Sunday, Jan. 25, bring warm clothes and snow boots to church if we have snow or a swimsuit if all the snow has melted. If you aren’t sure, bring both. Plan on lunch at the church and then heading over to Amigo Centre to use the tube run. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the backup plan is swimming at the Schrock’s. Lunch and any fee for the camp will be provided but feel free to bring a friend. Parents can plan to pick up their kids at 4:30 PM at the church.
A letter of thanks from Keystone Place is posted on the west bulletin board. This is where we give our food donations.

It’s time to reorganize the Prayer Chain. A sign up sheet is on the library counter. Please include your name and phone number. You must sign up to be on again. If you would be willing to be the head of one of the groups, please put a star or * beside your name.
Volunteers are needed at Amigo Centre from January through April. Check the bulletin board for dates and then contact Marcy Bontrager at the Amigo office to schedule your time.
The day for Locust Grove to help with the MCC meat canning is Jan. 21. Meet at the Depot in Goshen starting at 7:00 AM and work until 8-8:30 PM. Come for all or just part of the day. Wear clean clothes and something on your head. They will be canning turkey this year so they need help all day to cut the meat. Lunch will be served.
Don’t forget to bring in your Farm & Ranch, Birds & Blooms, and Country Living and other magazines which have scenery pictures of America. These will go in the Moldovan school bags. Bring your magazines in to the church office. Thanks for your help.
The JYF will be having a noon fundraiser dinner next Sunday. They will also be selling homemade noodles and angel food cakes. This fundraiser is to help with the cost of the winter youth retreat at Amigo Centre in February. Please plan to stay for dinner that day and enjoy the fellowship.
Calling all ladies to join the Secret Prayer Partners for year 2009! All ladies are invited to pick up a form on the library counter, fill it out and return it to Martha Franz or her mailbox by Feb. 1. Within a week or two from then, you will receive a form from the person you are to remember in prayer for year 2009. In addition you are encouraged to give/send them a card/note now and again to assure your secret partner that you are praying for them. Gifts are optional. We know you can pray, so join us!!!

Rick & Doris Bogen welcomed another grandchild into their family. Ben & Angela West became parents Dec. 31 when their daughter, Emily Sue, was born. She weighed 6lbs 10ozs, was 19 ¼ in long, and is a very beautiful and healthy little girl. (Of course, they are a little prejudice.) Blessings to this happy family!

- With Dana & Donna Sommers in the death of Donna’s mother, Martha Troyer from Goshen. Viewing will be Monday from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 at the East Goshen Mennonite Church. May God give the family peace and comfort.
- With Mike Monson who has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrom. It affects the immune system and nerve endings. He is at Borgess Hospital and is getting blood cleansing treatments.
