ANNOUNCEMENTS continued:
The Elders agreed at their last meeting to have our church treasurer issue a receipt for any check in the church offering that is $250 or more and is not in an offering envelope. The receipt will be placed in your church mailbox. This is for tax purposes. If you have any questions, talk to Dana Sommers or Bill Beck.
A sample ballot for church offices is in your mailbox today. The vote will be April 26, 2009. If you see any errors, please let Beth Miller or Marilyn Schwartz know.
The women of Shore Mennonite Church invite the women of Locust Grove to their annual Guest Day on Apr. 14 to be held in the fellowship hall of their church. Childcare will be provided. If the weather is bad, the meeting will be cancelled. Talk to Martha Franz if you are interested in carpooling.
A Worship Commission meeting is scheduled for Apr. 15 at 7:00 pm at the church.
The next WMSC meeting is this Thursday, Apr. 16. Hostess is Mary Jane Eichorn and Bertha Bontrager will have devotions. The project is items for newborn kits for MCC. You may donate all the items or just some of the things that go into the kits. A list of needed items was placed in your church mailbox previously.
The theme for VBS this year is Sun Rock Kids Camp, “where kids will learn to build their lives on the Rock: Jesus Christ”. Volunteer forms are due to Audra Franz today. Extras are on the library counter.
Palm Saturday is Apr. 18. We are still in need of volunteer workers. See sign-up forms on the library counter. Also, Locust Grove is responsible to provide 10 gallons of milk for the breakfast. A sign-up sheet is on the library counter for that, too. The milk needs to be here by noon on Thursday, Apr. 16.
We would like to invite you to an open house here at the church welcoming our granddaughter Katie Grace on Sunday, Apr. 19 from 4-6:00 PM. Matt, Mindy and Katie Grace will be here for the weekend and rather than having a baby shower, we decided to have an open house. You do not need to bring a gift, but are welcome to come and visit with Matt and Mindy and meet Katie Grace. – Marv & Gerri Schwartz
