ANNOUNCEMENTS
The family of Anna Stauffer invites you to help them celebrate Anna’s 85th birthday at an open house here at Locust Grove today from 3-6:00 PM. She requests “no gifts, please”.
There will be a special Elder Team meeting Monday, Sept. 26 at 7:00 PM here at the church.
The next scrapbooking night at Locust Grove is Friday, Oct. 7 at 6:00 PM.

The September WMSC project is bars of soap for MCC and the October project is boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
Communion is planned for the morning of October 2. As usual, there will be baskets available for Alms giving. The Elders are currently aware of at least four families with financial needs. Please make your giving a matter of prayer. – The Elders
Michiana Mennonite Women’s Retreat – Oct. 7-9 at Amigo Centre – Jane Stoltzfus Buller will speak on “Spiritual Friendship: A Path to Accountability”. Mary Roth will lead worship. Call 574-831-2473 for more information.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Saturday, Oct. 29, the Youth Core will have their annual fundraising auction and meal. Plan now to support this awesome group of kids.
Accidents occasionally happen regardless of how careful we are. If you happen to spill or drop something on the carpet that leaves a spot (specifically coffee), please let Sheila Troyer know the location and what was spilled or dropped so that the appropriate cleaner can be used to remove it. Any young person who is in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade is welcome to join JYF. They try to meet twice a month. Upcoming JYF events are listed below. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Kevin & Diana Yeager or Chris & Kerri Kahila.
Congratulations to Monica Lederman who passed her board exams this last week and is now a certified physician’s assistant!
The first bell for Sunday School will ring at 10:10 AM and the second bell will ring at 10:15 AM.
We need you! Our goal is for everyone to participate in community service work and visitation from Oct. 3-15. We will tally the total number of hours visiting and working at our Celebration time on Sunday evening, Oct. 16. Sign up for Community Service Projects at the Missions Commission table in the fellowship hall, today. – The Missions Commission
On Saturday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 PM the Mission Commission is hosting a “Neighborhood Ice Cream Social”. Come to meet our community neighbors. Bring lawn chairs, cake, cookies, and toppings to go with the ice cream.
Remember to bring your staple food supplies next Sunday for the Locust Grove Food Pantry.

We are beginning a new year so those who are in grades 3-5 are welcome to join the Explorers. If you have any questions or need directions, talk to Dave, Lynette, Brian or Jessilyn.
