ANNOUNCEMENTS, cont.
There will be a Nurture Commission meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 6:30 PM at Ramona King’s.
Prayer Partner Reveal Party – Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Martha Franz’s home. Anyone interested in joining next year is welcome to attend, also. A sign-up sheet and the new forms will be on the library counter and should be back to Martha by Jan. 8.
Wednesday Connection starts again this Wednesday with soup & sandwiches at 5:30 PM. At 6:30 PM we will be offering the following: Cathy Fellers will be leading a Beth Moore Bible study, Ross Weber will be leading a men’s study called “The Strength of Men”, Adam Fellers and Jim Carpenter will be leading a study called “Understanding Anabaptist Thought & Spiritual Disciplines”, Donna Sommers will be teaching the younger children, Shelly Kindig will be staffing the nursery, Jason & Andrea Ramer will be leading singing from 6-6:30 PM, and Kim Schwartz will be teaching sign language to mothers and children from 6-6:30 PM and advanced sign language from 6:30-7:30 PM. Hopefully there will also be a class for older children. Please plan now to join us on Wednesday evenings!
The MCC meat canning will be Jan. 15-25 at the Depot in Goshen. They will be canning turkey this year. Locust Grove’s day to help is Tuesday, Jan. 15 starting at 7:00 AM and going through the evening until 8-8:30 PM.
Julie Baretta and Peggy Sies are collecting used Christmas and all-occasion cards to be used for different ministry projects. A box will be on the library counter to collect any cards you wish to give them.
The Red Cross Blood Donor Day on Wednesday produced 45 units of blood. Eleven were first-time donors. There were 12 deferrals. It was a group effort beginning with Mark Schrock plowing snow the night before, Dennis Bontrager plowing Wednesday morning, Rick Prell shoveling, and Richard Prell, Fred Schwartz, and Lennis Troyer assisting with unloading the equipment. The activity continued all day until 8:45 PM when Martha Franz helped us lock up the church. You assisted in so many ways, working and donating to make this day a profitable one. Thank you so much. Happy Marriages don’t just happen. We need to nurture our relationships daily. Plan now to stay for our Marriage Retreat Fund Raiser lunch on Jan. 20. Your donations will help many of our married couples attend the Marriage Retreat in February 2009. Gerald & Lorraine Sims will be our resource persons for the Retreat.
The WMSC project for January is non-perishable food items for the Food Bank.
