It seems that every store, group, and radio station is taking donations for the Asian disaster. Would you like your donation to be presented in the name of Christ? We will take a special offering for MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) to use through their personnel in Indonesia to help the people suffering from the disaster. This offering will be received in addition to the regular offering on Feb. 13.
In your mailbox last week was a member list to start the Elder selection process. Next Sunday you will be asked to check all the names of the persons you feel have the gifts to serve as an Elder. Please be in prayer over this selection process.
If you would like to participate in our worship service in any way, please see Chris Barnes. This could include scripture reading, children’s messages, worship leader, worship team, technology assistance or special music.
Next Sunday we will have a Super Bowl party at the church, watching it on the big screen in the fellowship hall. At some point in the evening we will have a short devotional or video. Feel free to invite your friends and come enjoy the time together with the church family and others. We will also have table games available for those who aren’t interested in football. Bring snack and drinks, games, and lawn chairs or any other chairs you feel comfortable bringing.
JYFers: You will be going to a hockey game in Kalamazoo on Saturday, Feb. 12. You will leave the church at 6:00 PM and return after the game (around 11:00 PM). The sponsors have 30 tickets on hold and must have a count by Saturday, Feb. 5. Please let Eva or Katrina know if you plan to attend and if you’re bringing a friend. If they haven’t heard from you by the 5th, you will not have a ticket.
Our sound technician today is Corey Keeslar, computer technician is Joel Lederman, and camera operators are Sam Eicher and Nick Troyer.
Explorers: The next activity will be Feb. 6 from 2-4:00 PM at Bill & Linda Miller’s home. The plan is to go sledding. Please bring a sled if you have one. If you don’t, it’s okay. They will have extras. Whether there is snow or not, come prepared to be outdoors as they will have a different activity planned. Hope to see you there! If you have any questions, ask Dave, Lynette, Brian or Jessilyn.
