Baptismal Testimonies:
Christen Kahila – “I always remember going to Hesston Mennonite when I was a little girl and sitting and listening to my dad preach.  Growing up with my dad as a pastor has really helped me enjoy learning about God and helped me become more and more of a believer and follower.  I always go to him with questions about the Bible and listen to his opinion on how things that have happened to me relate to God, especially as I have grown up more and wanted to know more.  The past few years of my life have certainly not been the easiest, but I wouldn’t change a thing about them.  They have helped me develop a better relationship with God and helped me learn that He is always there for everything we go through, whether it be good or bad.  I am very proud of where I am with my life now and I am very happy with the choices I have made.  The events that have happened to me in the past three years have made me a stronger person.  They have made me want to have God as a part of my life.  I want to get to know Him more and more every day so that I can become the person God created me to be.  Getting baptized is a big step in that direction.  I believe it is helping me secure that bond I have with Him, and that I am willing to go wherever He takes me in life and I will always follow Him.  I think Locust Grove is also a good fit for a place to become a member.  My mom and her family have gone here and I grew up going here after we moved back from Kansas.  It just feels like a second home to me.  Everyone in the congregation is like family to me and I don’t think I could be happier anywhere else.”
Cody Litwiller – “I accepted Christ when I was 15.  This last year, I realized I wanted to be baptized and become a member of the church.  I appreciate the Youth Group and sponsors and how they’ve helped me grow.”
If you or a family member are attending college this fall and would like to be included on the college prayer list, please let Beth Miller know.
Remember to bring your food donations that will go to Salvation Army.
