We’re Glad You’re Here!

HEARING GOD’S WORD
Scripture: Acts 16:1-5
Sermon: “Advice to a Godly Young Man”

ANNOUNCEMENTS
It’s time to affirm several yearly items: Elder candidates, the church budget, and new church offices. Today, Aug. 16, you will find these ballots in your church mailboxes along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to return your completed ballots.  Any ballots not taken from the mailboxes will be mailed to the individuals.  Please note that the place to mark your affirmation for the budget is at the bottom of the second page of the proposed budget.  If you have questions, please talk to Ross Weber, Pastor Bill or Beth Miller.
Pastor Bill is getting rid of some books from his book shelves.  They are now on the console by the library.  Please help yourself.
Church mowing – week of August 16 – Erv Wickey
Food donations during August will go to Keystone Place.
The WMS project for August is School Kits for Mennonite Central Committee.  Bags in which to put the items will be at each church entrance.
Isaiah Fellers will be going to Alaska with Service Adventure for 11 months starting Aug. 21.  Service Adventure asks that his home congregation help sponsor his service by contributing $400/month.  If you feel led to contribute any amount during his time in Alaska, you may do so through your offering.  Please mark it “Isaiah Fellers, Service Adventure”.
Congratulations to Tangi Gautsche and Ralph Kimble on their marriage on Aug. 8.  May God bless you and your home with health and happiness!
Thank you for the prayers and cards throughout my cancer diagnosis and recovery.  I am healing as expected and praising God it was caught early.  We really appreciate all the prayers uplifted for us.  God is good all the time and so is Locust Grove prayer support!” – Donna Casper

Covid Update:  Recent statistics show that the number of new Covid-19 cases in St. Joe County has dropped. Our region has now dropped out of the high-risk category for new cases. Based on that, the Covid-19 Task Force, with the approval of the elders, is moving L.G.M.C. to Phase II of the Re-Opening Plan.  This does not mean that precautions should be discontinued. We are still considered to be at a medium risk for new cases. Handwashing, social distancing, wearing of masks, and other precautions should still be observed. It does mean that adult Sunday School classes may meet outside of the church building at a time they choose, following CDC and State of Michigan guidelines.  The Task Force will continue to monitor the number and severity of new Covid-19 cases in our county and base future decisions on those numbers.
