ANNOUNCEMENTS continued…
Faith Statement - We both were born and raised in the
Chicago area in the Reformed Church denomination, where Infant baptism is the tradition. We met after high school, married and had
3 children whom we raised in the "fear and nurture of the Lord". God has
always been a part of our family life. But it wasn't until we were in our 50's, after a particularly soul-searching sermon that we realized
our need to be baptized as adults. And so we took that step on 10/23/2011 at Village Evangelical
Free Church in Dyer, IN, "an outward sign of an inward change". After
retiring, we moved to our cottage, now turned into a year-round home, on Palmer
Lake in Colon, MI. Our dear friend, Sue Cole, introduced us to Locust
Grove Church and we feel the Holy Spirit has led us here. Special
thanks to Pastor Bill for the membership class. We learned a lot from
each other! We look forward to many years of worshiping and serving our Lord & Savior together with you. – Jerry
& Nancy Dykstra
