ANNOUNCEMENTS
Today we are
celebrating Bill & Sherry and their service to this church. We would also
like to remind the congregation that we will have an interim pastor guide us
through this transition. Matt Yoder will be starting this interim role soon. His first Sunday will be May 9th. In order to
get to know him, we will be holding a meet and greet that morning instead of
Sunday School in the fellowship hall. Matt has served in many capacities, most
recently serving as interim pastor for Howard Miami in Kokomo. He is excited to
be joining us and walking with us as we seek God's direction going forward.
There will be a
Love Farewell/Fellowship
Meal for Pastor Bill & Sherry today. If you haven’t yet made a scrapbook page, you
will still find supplies here today.
Food donations
during April will go to Keystone Place.
The Tuesday evening Ladies' Bible
Study will run through May 4
The MYF Auction will be
Saturday, May 8 in the church fellowship hall. Supper will be at
5:30pm with the auction following. The MYF is looking for homemade
or unique items such as baked goods, home goods, crafts, things unique to our
church, etc. All donations are greatly
appreciated but are not required to attend. If you have an item/items
you’d like to donate or have any questions, please see Adam & Cathy
Fellers, Marcy Bontrager or Doug Hasbrouck. A table will be set up at the
back of the church to display items prior to the night of the auction. We
hope you join us for this evening of fun and fellowship and to support our
church youth!
The Pastoral Search Committee would like to introduce themselves. We consist of Charlie
Casper (chair), Louanne Younts, Brent Beeker, Katrina Hasbrouck, Clint
Gautsche, and Audra Franz. We met for the first time on Monday, April 19 to
begin the process of finding LGMC's next pastor. Questions can be directed to
any one of the committee members.
The next blood drive will be
Monday, May 10. Volunteers are needed to help with setup, registration, tear
down and driving donors who may need rides. A sign-up sheet is in the
fellowship hall. If you want to donate blood, call the Red Cross for an
appointment 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Faith Statements – Collin
Keeslar – “God’s gift of the Holy Spirit gave me new life. A life I want to live in community with Christ. I knew I wanted to follow Jesus in my
life. I believe in my heart that Jesus
Christ lives and I want to live for him.
I appreciate all the sponsors that I have had over the years for helping
me grow.”
Connor
Keeslar – “I have been
going to Locust Grove for as long as I can remember and throughout my 16 years
of going to this church, many people have helped me grow closer to God. When I heard that Bill was leaving, I decided
that now would be a great time to be baptized so I can continue my walk with
Jesus Christ as a member of the church.
I want to say thank you to all the Sunday school teachers and Youth
Sponsors that have helped me grow closer to God.”
Evan
Litwiller – “I am
thankful to have been raised in a Christian home and to have had people in the
congregation praying for me, like Mike Krick.
I took the membership class with Bill about 3 years ago, but wanted to
wait to be baptized. I am thankful that
I can make this public commitment of faith with the support of such a caring
church body.”
Carter
Oswald – “The reason I
want to get baptized is I want to show everyone that I have asked Jesus into my
heart and I have accepted him as my savior.
I feel like having just gone through Easter, it has reminded me of the
amazing gift Jesus gave us when He died on the cross for our sins.”
Madelyn
Oswald – “I want to be
baptized because I’ve already asked Jesus into my heart and made Christ my savior. Now I want to make a public announcement that
I want to live for Jesus and also lead other people to him. I believe that Jesus died on the cross, and
rose again to save us from our sins even though we don’t deserve it.”
